I don't know if I can get 16, but I'll try. Oh, some are miniseries or made-for-tv.

A. Pick 16 (why 16 particularly?) of your favourite movies.
B. Then pick one of your favourite quotes from each movie.
C. Post the quotes in your journal.
D. Have those on your friends list try to guess what the movie is.
E. Strike out the quote once it has been correctly identified and place the guesser's user name directly after the quote.

1) "Are you killed?!?" "No, but I think I am rendered unconscious."[livejournal.com profile] mariesue

2) "Life is pain, Highness. Anyone who claims otherwise is selling something." [livejournal.com profile] stress_kitten and [livejournal.com profile] perlandria, simultaneously. I'm surprised I didn't get more people bombarding me with e-mails about that line, actually.

3) "I refuse to sit down at table with a man who chooses to keep his fellow human beings in bondage!" [livejournal.com profile] pyat
4) "Nothing is certain until you're dead, and even then I'm sure God negotiates." [livejournal.com profile] snowbahr

5) "Died? Who's died?" "Ah, at last! Our dear son!" No one got this one - it's "The Slipper and the Rose," a Cinderella musical from 1975 with several good one-liners and some really good music. Richard Chamberlain plays the prince. I always giggle at that line, though Piet has seen the movie and never noticed it.

6) "Using mainly spoons, we dig a tunnel under the city and release it into the wild!"[livejournal.com profile] snowbahr
7) "No one wants a fella with a social disease!" [livejournal.com profile] pyat
8) "You ripped off my Malibu Barbie idea!" "Uh-uh, I'm Disco Barbie!" [livejournal.com profile] perlandria
9) "Sorry, Ron, but you can't walk." [livejournal.com profile] stress_kitten
10) "A Dinglehopper!"[livejournal.com profile] dornbeast and [livejournal.com profile] snowbahr

That's all I can think of at the moment. Have fun. Only two are somewhat obscure - the rest a lot of people will get.

I said there would be, and I didn't choose ones no one had ever heard of - at the very least, i was pretty sure you'd get that one, having been subjected to Heather quoting it at every opportunity.

Hmmm...I recognize several but folks have already mentioned them. I'm going to guess that #5 might possibly be "corpse bride"??? Only seen it once, though.

Man, this would be tough for me to do myself. I think I'll try, but there are only a small handful of movies I quote very much. :(

Nope. This one was probably the most obscure movie on there, so I'm not surprised that no one's got it yet. Piet has seen the movie, but didn't recognize the quote.

5) A weird urge tells me Adam's Family, but that can't be right.

Slipper and the Rose! I've seen that a couple times-- have it on VHS around here somewhere. It's lovely! One of the nicest Cinderella adaptations I know. Chamberlain makes a great prince. But I'm with Piet...the line just didn't ring a bell with me at all.
