So you're getting a knitting picture instead. Behold the finished glory of the Ravenclaw set!

Stand in line. :) I've got several projects on the go to finish, then I'm knitting one of these for a friend, then I've got a hat someone has asked me to make, and after that I might be available for other orders. All of that being said, if you were to supply me with the yarn (closer to the date in question, of course) I would be willing to make you one. It's a perfect gaming-table project.

You're on!

Just let me know when to either send you the yarn, or send you funds to buy the yarn.

Funds and a website is probably easier (I'm a big fan of knitpicks.com) and I'm thinking probably next spring. Which house?

I used this yarn, (http://www.knitpicks.com/Swish+Worsted+Yarn_YD5420153.html) in Deep Ocean and Heather Grey. If you want it exactly like mine, I'll order some of that the next time I'm placing an order (which won't be for a long while yet) and let you know the price after that. If you'd like something more silver than grey, or if 100% wool doesn't work for you, there are some great cottons on that site that would probably work, as well. The Shine Worsted Wisteria is silvery and would look lovely next to the Sailor if you wanted to go cotton.

Yay! They look simply awesome! I'm impressed! And you look so excited, too! Can't wait to see pix of them with a winter coat having a snowball fight! :-)

The image that popped into my head at this comment was of a disembodied coat, hat, and mittens, balling up snow and throwing it at each other, while their owners shivered in the cold. :)

Hey, it was a good picture, so long as I wasn't one of the shivering coatless humans!

And to a person who isn't a HP fan it just looks like a cool winter scarf, mitten and hat set.

Yep. :) I like that the colours of my favourite house are also the colours that best bring out the shade of my eyes. :)

Congrats, they look great :)

It took me a minute to figure out what was wrong with the picture: you're modelling them while wearing a short-sleeved shirt! *shivers in sympathy*

I did that on purpose. :) My coat is grey, so I didn't want the scarf to blend in with it.

Thanks! I purposely held my hands so you wouldn't see the loose stitches where the join came between two needles on DPNs. :)

The more you use DPNs the more adept you will become with them. :-)

That's good to know. The second mitten turned out looser than the first.

Well, mittens - and you can't see the parts where the stitches are too loose. :)
