Not feeling talkative

So you're getting a knitting picture instead. Behold the finished glory of the Ravenclaw set!

That's kewl!!

*wants*

[identity profile] velvetpage.livejournal.com 2008-10-23 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
Stand in line. :) I've got several projects on the go to finish, then I'm knitting one of these for a friend, then I've got a hat someone has asked me to make, and after that I might be available for other orders. All of that being said, if you were to supply me with the yarn (closer to the date in question, of course) I would be willing to make you one. It's a perfect gaming-table project.

You're on!

Just let me know when to either send you the yarn, or send you funds to buy the yarn.

[identity profile] velvetpage.livejournal.com 2008-10-23 10:27 am (UTC)(link)
Funds and a website is probably easier (I'm a big fan of knitpicks.com) and I'm thinking probably next spring. Which house?

[identity profile] velvetpage.livejournal.com 2008-10-24 10:41 am (UTC)(link)
I used this yarn, (http://www.knitpicks.com/Swish+Worsted+Yarn_YD5420153.html) in Deep Ocean and Heather Grey. If you want it exactly like mine, I'll order some of that the next time I'm placing an order (which won't be for a long while yet) and let you know the price after that. If you'd like something more silver than grey, or if 100% wool doesn't work for you, there are some great cottons on that site that would probably work, as well. The Shine Worsted Wisteria is silvery and would look lovely next to the Sailor if you wanted to go cotton.

The cuteness! It burns! It burns like bathing!

[identity profile] velvetpage.livejournal.com 2008-10-23 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
If your bathing is burning you, ur doin it rong.

[identity profile] melstra.livejournal.com 2008-10-23 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
Yay! They look simply awesome! I'm impressed! And you look so excited, too! Can't wait to see pix of them with a winter coat having a snowball fight! :-)

[identity profile] velvetpage.livejournal.com 2008-10-23 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
The image that popped into my head at this comment was of a disembodied coat, hat, and mittens, balling up snow and throwing it at each other, while their owners shivered in the cold. :)

[identity profile] melstra.livejournal.com 2008-10-23 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
Hm, yeah I didn't word that very well, did I? But I think you know what I meant. :-)

[identity profile] velvetpage.livejournal.com 2008-10-23 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
Hey, it was a good picture, so long as I wasn't one of the shivering coatless humans!

[identity profile] velvetpage.livejournal.com 2008-10-23 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks!

[identity profile] tormentedartist.livejournal.com 2008-10-23 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
And to a person who isn't a HP fan it just looks like a cool winter scarf, mitten and hat set.

[identity profile] velvetpage.livejournal.com 2008-10-23 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
Yep. :) I like that the colours of my favourite house are also the colours that best bring out the shade of my eyes. :)

[identity profile] sassy-fae.livejournal.com 2008-10-23 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
Congrats, they look great :)

It took me a minute to figure out what was wrong with the picture: you're modelling them while wearing a short-sleeved shirt! *shivers in sympathy*

[identity profile] velvetpage.livejournal.com 2008-10-23 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
I did that on purpose. :) My coat is grey, so I didn't want the scarf to blend in with it.

[identity profile] catarzyna.livejournal.com 2008-10-23 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
It all looks great! :-D

[identity profile] velvetpage.livejournal.com 2008-10-23 10:28 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks! I purposely held my hands so you wouldn't see the loose stitches where the join came between two needles on DPNs. :)

[identity profile] catarzyna.livejournal.com 2008-10-29 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
The more you use DPNs the more adept you will become with them. :-)

[identity profile] velvetpage.livejournal.com 2008-10-29 07:57 pm (UTC)(link)
That's good to know. The second mitten turned out looser than the first.

[identity profile] velvetpage.livejournal.com 2008-10-23 10:29 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks!

[identity profile] the-af.livejournal.com 2008-10-23 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
looooooooooovely :D

[identity profile] velvetpage.livejournal.com 2008-10-23 10:29 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks!

[identity profile] forkly.livejournal.com 2008-10-23 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
Love it!

[identity profile] velvetpage.livejournal.com 2008-10-23 10:29 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks! Me too!

[identity profile] loxian.livejournal.com 2008-10-23 03:18 pm (UTC)(link)
And even gloves too! I am impressed and a tiny bit envious of your skills. Looks great.

[identity profile] velvetpage.livejournal.com 2008-10-23 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, mittens - and you can't see the parts where the stitches are too loose. :)
