Purposeful Ramblings Through My Mind

Last night's exploit: a grand-opening reception at the Rainbow Room, in the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Niagara Falls, overlooking the Rainbow Bridge (of course) and the falls themselves. Piet had free tickets because he was working it, so he took me, nottheterritory, and sassy_fae.

The food was indescribable. Mashed potatoes in a martini glass with delicious toppings; canapés I can't remember the names of; mushroom risoto that was creamy and perfect; an antipasto bar that we ended up camping out next to because everything was so yummy; venison with purple potatoes; and the wines! The ice wine I had with dessert was my favourite.

I've decided I need a Little Black Dress for events like this, and once I buy one, I need a capaulet to go with it. My purple dress and qiviut scarf worked well for last night, but I want something new. And I need to invest in a new pair of heels for the twice a year I'm likely to wear them. I can't find my old ones - they must have gotten moved because, surprise, surprise, they never get worn - and the high-heeled boots just don't work.

Anyway. I'm off to do my grocery shopping so I can nap for a while later in the morning.
