Yeah my daughter got AO. I got the materials, and the school is refusing to return my phone calls. She now insists that condoms cause AIDS. Since they let an adoption agency give the lessons I can only imagine they want lots of white babies available. They not only said condoms don't work, but that you should NEVER keep the baby. The conspiracy theorist in me swears they are just looking for babies.
Your daughter is a smart cookie. Can you show her the correlation between the person doing the teaching and the possible motives they might have for not telling the truth? Or fire better sex-ed her way via the planned parenthood website or some such? (I know you could do it yourself, but the planned parenthood site would have more authority than anyone's mom, even her own, with a teen.)
I'd register a complaint with the Education department at the state level, and anyone else who might listen, all the way up.
I am trying to find out if AO was a policy or if she was out sick during something important. Otherwise I will look like a fool when I complain.

AO also dumps the responsibility on the woman, it was disgusting to read the materials she came home with.
I was told that "boys are more visual" than girls and that's why boys liked pornography more than girls. IT's also why girls shouldn't dress too sexy lest they entice their boyfriends. Even at age 14 I knew then was a load of sexist bull. I wouldn't exactly call my education AO, but we were lied to about just how effective condoms and hormonal birth control are. (Oh and the pill makes you gain 5-10 pounds! The horror! Yes, that was a major con against the pill to them.)
One particularly telling video series we had to watch seemed both racist and misogynistic on so many levels. One girl had her boyfriend get her drunk and pretty much raped her when you consider she could barely stand in the segment I saw. Yet it was her fault she ended up with an STD and pregnant because she "allowed" him to get her drunk, the slut. Oh, and her only option was to keep the baby. (And she was going to have to put on 25-30 pounds during pregnancy! Poor girl cried over that more than finding out she was pregnant.) They did show an actual rape, and of course it was one of the African American actors who raped and what happened with the white couple was not rape, though by legal definition these days it is.
Wow, I wish someone had showed me how to use my gun when I was that young -- I had to learn all on my lonesome. Of course, once I figured it out, I spent many hours practicing at the shooting range -- sometimes, up to three or four times a day! These days, I rarely miss the target; however, I often seem to forget where I left all of my bullets.
