Elizabeth has started talking on the phone to her aunt and uncle in Washington State. They're thrilled with it, of course. She's always so cute.

Yeah. She's got lots of aunts and uncles - the five who are actually siblings of me or Piet, one spouse of a sibling, and two step-uncles, plus my sister's fiancé who is known as "unca MaK!" It should be interesting when summerfields actually arrive here on Christmas Eve. I have a feeling they're about as real to her as Baby Jesus, who she talks about quite a bit in the context of Oma's nativity scenes. What will it do for her faith when they show up in the flesh? :)
