Or who need a new bookmark to add to their vaccination links, here's probably the best all-round, layman's-terms analysis of the data I've yet read, specifically against the vaccine/autism (lack of) link. Fear not: vaccines do not cause autism.

I still cannot believe people think that autism is caused by jabs.

Hi, I'll respond here, as it seems Sam has block entries for the time being. You're right, the manner of my critique of your husband was unfounded and unjust, and for that I appologize. But I have to disagree with you about the fact that the internet isn't real life.

These Are people's real lives, and real emotions. A letter like the one he wrote out of the blue to my firend could break someone, could drive them to drink, to kill themselves. How would you feel if some random person you had never met wrote you a very personal letter telling you everythign you are or aspire to be was foolish and stupid? I'm just glad my friend is a strong person with a clear sense of himself and his goal. This is real life. And when someone kicks your friend in the face (even if it's virtually, it is a poor thing to do. And Sam is my friend, so I said some unkind things in response. And that was unjust and unfounded, so I take them back, because this is real life, even if it's over a computer. But I still think your husband's a jerk. Sorry.

Just out of curiosity, did you actually read the letter that Sam was responding to? I mean the entire letter, not the quotes he used in his response.

It's true that no, I haven't. Perhaps given the a different context things read differently. But I felt what I did see (several pages) and the reaction it illicited warranted a response. Words wound, even if they are surrounded by other words that don't, and even if a person is well-meaning and attempting to critique rather than insult. I will check out the original though, as you are right, context can be key.

I should also point out that I didn't defend my husband's actions. Neither has he, if you read the rest of the thread. I think if it wasn't for some previous comments of Sam's regarding forgiveness, Pyat would have been clearer in his apology. But Sam doesn't, nor has he ever, taken apology very well.
