Okay, I'm wearing a really cheesy grim reaper robe. I need a holy symbol, a mane and a tail to be Annarisse. I had to take the darn thing up nine inches so I wouldn't trip on it. It's really, really hard to find an adult-size halloween costume with a tail, non-x-rated.
I have stacks and stacks of photocopies from a "Jumbo Book of Borders", mostly haunted houses, jack o'Lanterns, and other similar themes, waiting for my kids to write horrible acrostic poems that all sound exactly the same. Needless to say, I will gush over them and remark on the lovely colouring. It's not a day for c's.
I have one, single photocopy of "Les Trois Petits Cochons", for
rainwolf to read from as the wolf. There are really only two lines that repeat three times. I'm looking forward to Wgg hamming it up.
I remembered to buy snacks for teachers, since it was my day. Pumpernickel and spinach dip, two-bite brownies, a fruit platter, and some chocolate-covered cheesecakes. I'll have to remember to bring a plate to the nice grade 3 teacher who agreed to take my duty today during first break, leaving me free to meet
rainwolf. I'm doing a double for her next week, but still - today, that's going to be the worst duty because it's right after the parties. I really owe her one.
Elizabeth's clothes are laid out for her, and her parrot costume is hanging on its hook, ready to go. She was sick last night, so I really hope she's okay for this this morning. My kids can't wait to meet her, but I don't want her spreading bugs to my class.
Only one thing is missing, which I'll call Pyat about in a few minutes. I forgot the digital camera. Fortunately, Oma is stopping there to pick up Elizabeth, so she can get it then and bring it to me. There will be pictures!!
