This yarn is simply marvelous. I love the variations in colour; I love the way they come out in semi-random blocks, as opposed to the much finer mixing that often happens when knitting; I love the super-soft texture with not one hint of the scratchiness I usually associate with pure wool; in short, I love everything about it.

I've finished the body of the poncho I'm making for Claire, and I've started on the hood. Tomorrow is Friday; if the second lot of yarn doesn't arrive by then, it won't arrive until Monday at the earliest. I'm half-hoping it doesn't, so I'll have the weekend to finish crocheting this and finish it. If it comes, I'm going to want to start Elizabeth's poncho immediately, and that's just not a good idea when Claire's is so close to being finished.

If anyone needs a special gift for a little girl, I am quite willing to make up a poncho in your choice of colourway from [livejournal.com profile] yarny_bits. Cost is three times the cost of the yarn. For a two-year-old's poncho, two skeins would be required; that's approximately $17 worth of yarn, which is $50 plus shipping from me to you. A bigger poncho would take more yarn and therefore be worth more. I'll be posting pictures of it tomorrow. Now that I've done this pattern once, I could easily adjust it as desired. I love fiddling with patterns, and I'm looking for any excuse to buy more of this stuff than I can afford on my own. :)

As for little boys - I'll have to get back to you when I find a pattern I like. I'll probably make something for my sister's baby out of this in the not-too-distant future, so I'll have a pattern or two I could use. (I just realized - practically everyone on my friends list who has a baby, has a boy. Weird.)

I'm going to bed, so I can rest my tired shoulders that have made an entire garment in two days.
