If an American presidential hopeful did something like this, it would sink him. But this is Canada, and Bob Rae probably just netted himself a chunk in the Liberal leadership race.

All puns absolutely, 100% intentional.

I saw the ad, and decided I want him to win.

Besides, I don't really blame him for what happened when he was Premier. His party never expected to win, and they were all very inexperienced and unprepared.

OTOH, I have no desire to see Dubya skinnydip, thank you very much.

I think he's the best of an uninspiring lot. All I know for sure at this point is that Iggy would never get my vote. The irony here is that Iggy is seen as the intellectual candidate, while in reality, Rae's academic credentials are at least as impressive.

Silly me, forgetting to log in. . . I should disable anonymous posting so I can't do this by accident.

Okay. Here's the deal. You guys warm the place up, and I'll move in a heartbeat! *L*

You realize that skinnydipping happened in a Northern Ontario lake at the beginning of October? Those lakes are barely warm enough for swimming in August. I shudder to think about how cold it was.

Southern Ontario's not bad. It rarely stays below -20 more than a few days at a time. :)

*eye* Where I live doesn't go below +20°C while the sun's up for most of the year.

A few years I learned that in historical times, the northern part of the northern hemisphere has been four degrees warmer than it was then. Specifically, the Viking had a warmer time of it. So it seems we can accomodate some of the climate change now happening. But making it 30 degrees warmer is another thing. When that happens, you'd probably *have* to come here to survive.

Unfortunately, that would be true. What would work admirably is that Canada's government, as flawed as it is, takes over Mexico, reforms it, and then I can move there. *G*

I don't think it will help him - opinion in the blogosphere is that he made an ass of himself (literally).

I still prefer Iggy's faults to any of the other candidates' strengths.

Being for both the invasion of Iraq and torture are some rather big faults. He'll never get my vote, that's for sure.

He may be better than Harper, but only in the way that having a broken finger is better than having a broken arm.

I agree. He's not only Americanized, he's Republicanized.

Not quite.

If an American Democratic presidential hopeful did something like this, it would sink him. If a Republican presidential hopeful did something like this, it would be made to seem warm and human, and you could bet that it'd be an intentional distraction from some piece of exceedingly vile legislation being pushed through.
