From
urban_homestead on the creation vs. evolution debate:
"It's a bit like standing in the Louvre admiring the Winged Victory while behind me, one person is shouting that it's obviously a natural rock formation because only credulous ninnies would believe in a sculptor, and another person is shouting that obviously the statue was made without arms in the first place."

Date: 2006-08-17 03:30 pm (UTC)The quote could just as easily be:
"It's a bit like standing in Cathedral Cavern admiring the world's largest stagamite while behind me, one person is shouting that it was obviously sculpted because everything was created by a sculptor exactly as it is now and another person insists that an architect built the cavern with the explicit intent that the stalagmite would eventually be created exactly as it is now, and both of them loudly ridicule the guy who suggests maybe it's just a naturally occuring rock formation because everyone knows rocks can't be formed naturally, they're much too complex for that."
To potray anyone who does believe in God as silly. Of course, mine isn't quite as pithy.
