New community?

For those who said they might be interested in starting a community to support combo feeding - or for that matter, any feeding choice for a baby - I think I'm going to do it. I'd like one other moderator, preferably someone with lots of knowledge and experience of babies and new moms, though that's not a prerequisite. And I need a name. Any ideas?

Some initial thoughts:

combo_feed
breast_etc
bottle_and_breast (is this one too long, and should I be implying that bottle = formula?)

Other suggestions welcome.

Edit: I've decided I want moderated membership and posting access by all members, rather than a moderated community. I'd kinda like to have a second maintainer, so if anyone volunteers, that's what you're volunteering for.

Hmmm....good questions. I personally like bottle_and_breast because it seems the most descriptive. True, it does leave open for interp the fact that the bottle could be filled with EBM-- but that might not be bad either unless you didn't want to open that can of worms. The term "combo-feed" wasn't actually known to me although it made perfect sense as soon as I heard it. People without prior knowledge, however, might see it and not think instantly of babies...at least imho.

Actually, if I want it to show up when people search for breastfeeding, I might switch it around - breastandbottle. I know that source of confusion is a bone of contention for many exclusive BMers who take bottles of expressed milk - they hate the assumption that bottles hold formula.

Thanks! I've joined them, and I'll decide tomorrow whether or not to do the new community anyway. I've already written the intro, and it would be a shame to waste it. :)

LJ doesn't accept the ampersand character in names. Otherwise, there's a 15-character limit, or at least there used to be.

breast_n_bottle fits both criteria.

breast_formula also works.

Does LJ accept the "+" sign as well? Because...you could theoretically also go with "Breast+Formula" and such.

Underscore works too, though.
