I put her down just a minute ago, at 9:02. First she brushed her teeth, then we said a little prayer, then she laid down and I covered her up with her quilt. She's holding Piglet for dear life, and she was giving some token sobs, but at the moment, I can't hear anything. I think she'll be asleep tonight before the first five minutes are up, and with no screams.

Maybe delaying bedtime by half an hour to accommodate digestion of the bottle will not be necessary. That's good, because I like the idea of a glass of milk at bedtime. I want to wean her from the bottle soon, but I'd prefer that the contents of the bottle remain.

Basically, it appears that the cry it out ordeal is over for Elizabeth. She's learned that she can go to sleep on her own. She'd rather not, of course, but then, who among us really likes sleeping alone? She'll manage just fine, her and Piglet and her Spidey pj's.

I think I'll follow her to bed within the hour. I'm bushed. Single parenthood is hard work, especially when you still have a social life.

Yes, it did. In fact, five minutes ago I put her down awake for a nap for the first time. I'm not hearing anything, and she's really tired, so I think she's out. This is nice. It's going to free up a lot of time over the next two weeks.
