Elizabeth and I went to Zellers today (for our American friends, Zellers is the chain that, according to rumour, will soon be bought by Target.) I bought a pair of black slacks, regular sizes rather than plus, that look soooooo good! Also a top with lots of dark fuscia in it, a great colour for me, and a navy blue top to go with all my beige pants. I got a pair of shorts and a t-shirt for Elizabeth, big enough that she'll likely wear them more next year than this, for five bucks each. It was 10% off if you showed your teacher card, on stationary and school supplies, so I bought a few workbooks of the kind designed for parents to give their kids extra help. (Technically, it's illegal for me to photocopy these, but you do what you have to do, right? And they were cheap.) Also a Caillou book, IN FRENCH, and odds and ends of stationary for school. (I looked through every preschooler book they had; they had 23 different Caillou books, and only one was in French. Oh well - at least I could get her one book.) By that time she was getting really sleepy, putting her head on my arm and closing her eyes when I reached across the buggy to pick up a book, so we paid and left. She was asleep before I turned the car on. It was so nice to be able to go shopping and buy heavy stuff, like a crate of bottled water, without worrying about how to get it home!
Tomorrow I'm going up to Limeridge with my sister, to buy work tops - probably only one or two, since I bought two today. There's no point spending a fortune when they'll be too big in a few months! I love shopping.
*Happy Dance*
Now, to shorten those pants.
