Doing a fill-in-the-blank sing with Rudolph, Mommy sang, "Santa came to . . ."

"Life!" said Elizabeth.

From that she launched into a rousing rendition of, "We wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy new groceries!" She named broccoli, peanut butter, and spaghetti during the song.

It occurred to me that knowledge of the phrase, "came to life," and the ability to fill in a word that would make sense in a wide variety of toddler-friendly situations, were both indications of a high degree of intelligence. I'm not claiming to be unbiased, of course - just proud. :)

Rhys hears "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel" as "O Come, O Come, Macaroni". I do too, but I have an actual hearing problem.

Something to file away for when he's a bit older - hearing problems of that nature are often hereditary.
