curves, pounds and inches

As of this morning, I now weigh one pound less than I did the day I found out I was pregnant with Elizabeth, two years ago. This is the lowest I have weighed since her. When I got pregnant with her, I was on a similar low-carb diet and had lost about seven pounds. This makes this the lowest weight I've seen in two and half years. Better than that, because of the strength training at Curves, I look like I've lost more than 25 pounds, instead of the eleven that have really gone. And I've got muscles.

It's gonna be a bright, bright, sunshiny day.

Good for you, velvetpage!! How often do you go to the gym? Do you use a personal trainer? How much does it cost you?

Approximately three times a week, though I try never to miss two days in a row, so sometimes it's four times. It costs me $39 per month, which fortunately I had the foresight to pay in advance for the whole summer. The Curves workout is set up as a circuit, with one strength machine followed by one step aerobics station, and so on. You start anywhere there's space, you finish when you get back around to that spot the second time, doing the whole circuit twice. No, no personal trainer, but the staff know everybody and help when they see a need, so there's more support than at most gyms. It's much, much less intimidating than other gyms.

It's the biggest fitness franchise in the world, and it's been in Canada for years already, though the ones in Hamilton are fairly recent. She's probably seen the commercials. It has my recommendation - it works.

Yeah, I'm now starting to try on stuff from two or three years ago and decide a) what I still need to purchase
b) what I desperately want to purchase
c) what can be salvaged from previous wardrobes
d) what I'm absolutely sick of that has to go pronto

The Amity is going to be very happy with me! Some of the stuff I'm giving them is practically new!
