Sep. 18th, 2005 04:31 pmI feel much better about my wardrobe now.
I bought three pair of pants for thirty dollars total. Two are navy-blue cords, one almost black and the other a bit brighter but still tasteful. They're so incredibly comfy! The third pair are black and fit perfectly except for the belly. They're maternity pants, the kind with the adjustable elastic waist. If I wear mostly loose tops over them, it'll hide the extra room for a while at least.
I also got an Eeyore costume for Elizabeth - a plush, one-piece, head-to-toe affair that will be nicely warm with the addition of some sweats underneath it. She's going to love it. I had to pass up the white unicorn costume because it would have fit her last year. I also let slide the pony. The idea with that costume was, dress her up like a princess, strap the pony thingy over the princess costume, and she's a princess riding a horse. It was marvelous, but it was for kids five to seven, and she's not quite that tall yet. She never saw it, so she won't be disappointed. Ah, well. There's always next year. For me, I got a purple-and-black striped witch's hat and a purple sparkly broom. I'll wear the Grim Reaper robe with it that I have from last year, and voilĂ ! Insta-witch! Oh, I also got a purple and black feather boa. I just couldn't resist.
etherlad got a great smoking jacket that I can't wait to see in an lj icon, and
sassy_fae got several odds and ends, including a pirate hat and spiderweb lace stockings. We're considering the idea of combining the Christmas Pudding Party with a Halloween party. That reminds me - I should start nailing down a date for puddings in the near future. They're an expensive proposition and best done soon after Thanksgiving. I've got lots of cherry brandy available, and I can't drink it between now and then (sigh) so that's one expense spared. Who's in for that this year?
