No, I didn't buy much. I didn't even spend the gift certificate I had.

I did, however, earmark half a dozen things I will buy three weeks from now, when I've been paid. There was a deep turquoise velour skirt with lace around the hem at Old Navy that I fell in love with. It's stretch enough to be interim mat wear, too. I don't have much in the lighter shades of turquoise that would work with it - so I went to Reitman's with that in mind. At Reitman's, I found a zip-up faux-suede blouse in exactly the right shade to work with that skirt, and it could be either a light jacket/blazer, or a stand-alone shirt. There were also two tops that would work well with the skirt I got at Zellers last week, though they're lower priority because I already have two tops to match that skirt.

So, one skirt, two tops for sure, maybe one more to match the turquoise skirt, a pair of shoes and some tights that will allow me to wear the skirts in the winter, and at least one pair of black wear-with-everything pants. That's my wardrobe plan for the fall.

Meanwhile, I got a little top in a size to fit Elizabeth next year, and I bought her six pair of socks at Old Navy. Most of her socks are way too small anyway, and we've just been stretching to make them fit. It was time to update that part of the wardrobe.

It looks like the MIL can't take Elizabeth after her nap after all, but my mom called and invited us over for a swim, so that'll be good. And my sister will take her for a while tomorrow afternoon to give me a break and some writing time.
