blah

This is such a blah day. Looking out the classroom window from the second storey, you can't see the pavement clearly through the fog. We've had indoor recesses all day long. This is the third period today (out of six) that I've brought a class to the computer lab. JSK's, who would normally be in here at this time, are doing grade 1 orientation today, so they're not using the computer lab. The grade 2 teacher is feeling guilty for spending no time with her class, when her life makes mine look like a walk in the park on a gentle spring afternoon, so she cancelled reading buddies. As a result, the grade 8 class I normally supervise is in the computer lab instead of partnering grade 2's. This is always a boring period of the week since the grade 8's pretty much run the program without me, but this week it's especially - well - blah.

I have one more interview this afternoon, at 3:30. It's for a library/computers/primary social studies job at a school on the West Mountain. It's a great job, even without the French, but for interview purposes it has one serious drawback: the person retiring and leaving this job empty is the lady who teaches the librarianship courses at Brock Teacher's College. She trained me. This makes me nervous, even though I swore I would not be nervous for this interview. AFter all, it doesn't really matter. Odds are I will not get it and I'll find myself being placed this day next week.

I just spyed on one of my student's computers to discover someone else using livejournal at the same time. THat's just weird.

Read his/her journal and see what they think about you!

Um... wait... better now. ;0)

You'll do fine today, love. You're a very confident and assured person most of the time.

It's friends only, and I don't want to friend her, just in case.

As for confidence, it depends. Lately my confidence in my teaching abilities is very low.

Yes, but these are the sorts of topics you'd do well at, I think. :) Especially in a new environment.

Oh, as [livejournal.com profile] rainwolf mentioned in his journal, we've arranged to drive down to GenCon together, so that whole issue is sorted out.

Don't be too hard on yourself, you're teaching a grade that you don't want to teach. I'd chalk up any feelings of lack in teaching ability to be because of that, not because of your actual talent.

This is one of those areas where my head agrees with you and my emotions have their own opinions. I know you're right. I just can't feel it.
