Headache better, but not gone. No additional sleep on the horizon.

I finished the book I was reading - or almost. I'm past the big wedding scene at the end, and just wrapping things up, now. Maybe now I'll be able to concentrate on the book I'm supposed to be writing. It did point out a few things I need to add in to my writing though - racial pride, for example, and a few more lower-class characters for depth.

I made lemonade by hand yesterday. Today, my MIL brought over a glass juicer thingy from Aunt Amy. Isn't that always the way?

Elizabeth is asleep. This is good.

I don't think I have enough powers of concentration to write right now, so I'm going to go crochet. Or rather, I'll finish my book, then crochet.

I had trouble with that for the story I wrote them, too. I'm beginning to get concerned about it; I haven't heard anything back, not even an acknowledgement that they received it.

In a novel, you develop characters slowly over time, gradually building on their previous experience and showing how it changes them, or not. In a short story, you present one small episode of a character's life, and that's it. It's a difficult shift to get used to.

Is yours also for Anthrolations? Because if so, we're in direct competition. :)

The Sofawolf folks seem to be pretty good about communicating with their contributors. If you haven't heard from them, I might suggest a polite follow-up email just asking to confirm that they've gotten what you sent.

And my story is actually a bit too far on the racy side for Anthrolations, so I'm probably going to submit it to Heat, instead. You'll just have to take my word for it that it's not outright smut. Honest!

Far be it from me to decry the creation of good, honest smut. :)

I'll send the email tomorrow. Thanks!

Well, when I do write good smut, I at least try to be honest about. And hopefully not pretentious.

Besides, someone needs to be able both spell and write abot sex. At least every so often.
