Our school has the chance to get free, refurbished computers, laptops, desktops, printers, etc, from a company looking to write them off. I've been asked to be on the committee making up the request form, because I come across as knowing what I'm doing with computers. While it's true I know more than most of them, I am not nearly enough of a computer nerd to know exactly what to ask for. So, I need some help.

We are requesting one laptop for each teacher and two working desktops for each classroom. The IT teacher pointed out that CD drives were essential, and I added USB ports to the list of requirements, because if they're ever going to link to anything important, USB ports will be necessary. Can others offer suggestions of things we should request with these computers? Remember, they're refurbished, and they're being donated in part because their resale value is fairly low. They make a good tax write-off. So be realistic in your suggestions, and assign a priority rating: 10 means I couldn't work without it, 2 means nice but completely unessential frill.

I appreciate any and all input. Thanks, Friends List!

Sorry if I miss anything important. It keeps showing me the same entries over and over again. I first saw the one about the new couch early this morning, and it's still popping up at the top of my friends page. I mean, it's a nice couch and all, but the post doesn't even have pictures!

So if there's anything really important you think I should have seen from today, comment here with a link and I'll read it tomorrow.
