As the world turns. . .
Apr. 19th, 2005 09:04 pm"There are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of in your philosophy."
Twelve years ago, when I first met Piet, I found it rather geeky and interesting that he knew so much about a show that had gone off the air at a time when both of us were still rising at obscene hours to watch cartoons on a Saturday morning. I willingly watched taped episodes with him, laughing when they were funny or just bad. I must confess that I felt it was a harmless affectation of fandom for him to collect so much Dr. Who paraphernalia.
More than a decade later, nearly two decades after the show first went off the air, I find myself looking forward to our family T.V. night of Dr. Who, not just because Piet likes it, but because I do.
We don't always recognize where life is going to take us when we plan it out.
And thank God for that.
