Snow day? No way
Jan. 6th, 2005 08:01 amThis snowstorm hit about two hours too late for me. Our board is open. The rural boards immediately south of here are closed, as are most of the private schools in the area. But Hamilton buses will be picking people up more or less on schedule. But the forecast is supposed to get worse before it gets better.
The bets are on amongst the staff. When will the bus company call and say they're coming early, so close the school? When will the board realize they should have closed for the day? Will the in-service I'm supposed to go to this afternoon be cancelled (again) or will we be expected to slip and slide our way to the West Mountain to get to it?
There are occasional days when I wish I lived in the sunny south.
Then I remember hurricanes, and figure a snowstorm still does less damage.
