"Если в вашей жизни есть хотя бы один человек, которого вы считаете близким другом и которого не встретили бы, если бы не Интернет, поместите эту фразу в свой дневник."
Also from [info]waya3k:
Translated:
"If there is at least one person in your life whom you consider a close friend, and whom you would not have met without the internet, post this sentence in your journal."
Um, Piet, for one. Also
sassy_fae,
etherlad,
rainwolf,
redstorm and the entire D&D group, none of whom unfortunately are on lj. I must confess, though, that it was not my own internet prowess who brought these people into my life, other than the very first. All the rest, I met through Piet, who met them online or through events that he became a part of as a result of being online.
There are many others on my friends list who are becoming, or are already, very good friends. I appreciate all of you. My life is much richer with each of you in it.

Seriously, though, it's nice to have new friendships that have as much promise as the old ones. I've made more real friends through gaming than I have any other way, and I'm looking forward to the growth of those friendships. Especially if it means I get to see a wedding being planned for the next six months. :)

Date: 2005-01-07 02:03 pm (UTC)Gah, planning! I've done only the most cursory form of planning. In addition to some of the menfolk in kilts, we're planning on being unconventional, which is probably not the biggest of surprises :D The reception/party afterwards will be pretty informal, and may take the form of a big barbeque :)
