My girly-girl

I was getting Elizabeth dressed for church just now. Oma is coming to pick her up soon, though I'm staying home. We got out her cute green plaid outfit, which includes a ribbed sweater, a green fleece sweater, and a plaid skirt - "une jupe". Well, I got her to put down the book and the comb, which was more than I'd managed when I was pulling her shirt over her head. Eeyore, it turned out, wanted to read the book, and the comb could be transferred from one hand to the other. Then she held onto my shoulder and stepped into her skirt.

Then she stood there in her crib, swishing her knees back and forth and chanting, "Jupe! Jupe! Jupe! Jolie jupe!" Then she picked up the comb in her right hand again (she's very right-handed) and started combing her hair. "Jolis cheveux! Jolis cheveux!" Then she was doing both at once, swishing and combing, saying, "Jupe! Cheveux! Mommy, jupe, cheveux!"

I'm raising a very girly girl. :)

I've heard that one before, too. I think it was Chesterton, but don't quote me on it.
