You know the drill - star or bold the ones you personally like. The list supposedly contains the fifty worst songs ever. I think it contains a fair selection of mediocre but badly-overplayed songs. Anyhow. Try it if you dare.

When I saw the title of this I was amazed. I loved at least half of the top ten. Then I saw the thing about picking the ones you like.

The sad thing is that as I looked further/farther/whatever down, there are a fair number that I don't even recognize. That either means they were really really bad, or I'm getting really really old.

Who came up with this list anyway?

I guess you are the side who likes to play music better than listen to it. That's good, I'm guessing with all the years of practice you have had, you are better at playing than I am anyway.

I bet you have heard the songs, but did not know their titles.

I pulled it from [livejournal.com profile] hillarygayle. I have to confess I didn't look at who compiled it.

The point is, of course, that they were really bad. But I knew almost all of them in one way or another.

We have the exact same list in a BLENDER magazine from last year. I am thinking it came from there....or maybe came from the same source they used.
I like this idea, and will steal it for my journal! :)

Yeah, we are quite excited to be leaving the buttcrack of Washington to move into the part of it that is actually evergreen...like the state nickname declares. Not ever brown and dusty like it is here!
I am HAPPY!
And now, since Seattle is an actual destination, people might visit us! Also, it's close to Canada - yay!

So many of those songs were waaaaay overplayed, but most I really enjoyed. I am surprised sledgehammer-peter gabriel amd Like a virgin (along with severl other early 80's M songs) -Madonna did not make it on this list. ALso songs by debbie gibson...tiffany, and countless others. Who came up with this list?

Okay, Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue is just because Blender is one of those liberally biased pain-in-the-keister magazines. I've noticed that they put the Dixie Chicks, who have had a few of the very worst songs ever, and have some seriously idiotic looking makeup and wardrobe choices as some of the best songs and best videos and such. But that's just my opinion, based on observations.

I'm in agreement, most are just kind of bleh - though there are a few real stinkers in there. I work in a store that plays retro music and am forced to hear I Wanna Sex You Up every couple days. Gah.

I always, always hated that song. I have never heard it without cringing. Whoever thought it would make a good song was seriously in need of therapy - and a producer with a grain of common sense.

Where do you work?
