I want to make the turtle,, and maybe the horse further down. But the turtle for sure - I even have some softee chunky yarn that would be cool for a turtle.

A friend of mine has a great octopus pattern if you're interested.

I have some other pattern books I found when I was going through some stuff. It's mostly easy stuff - hats & mittens, kids's stuff, some sweaters. Are you interested in them?

I re-posted your link in someone else's comments, since she's a relatively new crochet-er and makes dolls, and got these back in comments:

Those are ADORABLE.

And - crochet is easy and, if you use cheap yarn, fairly inexpensive. You just need the right size hook for your yarn, and a few basic stitches.

I forget where I saw it, but someone posted a crocheted fish purse that was too cute a few days ago.

I have a MAJOR thing for turtles. I don't know what it is -- I know it's partly surrounding Lynny, but it started before she died, so it was beginning in teenage-hood. The turtle in our science class didn't like to be picked up and handled but he came out of his shell when he heard my voice, and he always always always tried to climb his cage to get to me - so the teacher (this was 11th grade) suggested I pick him up -- and from that day on I lived turtles. Then I spent a few summers in S. Padre Island, TX with my dad and Lynn and saw sea turtles and learned how they lay their eggs and all about them and I was in love. Now, they are my thing. I think my poor children will be surrounded by turtles ... I hope they like them. LOL
