1. Describe your ideal 24-hour day.

2. Congratulations! You've just received an award. What is the award for?

3. You find yourself somewhere where everyone around you is speaking in a language that you don't share. Why are you there, and what do you do?

My answers in comments.

1) My ideal 24-hour day involves a mixture of time spent with family, time spent with friends, and alone time. It involves a good book or movie and a craft project while watching it (that's the alone time) a stimulating discussion on some topic of mutual interest, or some role-playing/other gaming (that's the friend time) and - well, I won't describe what I'd be doing with my husband, but with my daughters we'd be reading books and playing in ways that displayed and developed their intelligence, so that I could enjoy my smart kids. Lastly, it would happen in a house that I didn't have to clean, and that didn't need me to clean it at the end of the day, either.

2) This is one I'd most like to get, right? Then I'd have to say an award as the most promising new author of [enter genre here] fiction for this particular society's mandate.

3) I'm probably there because I'm travelling just for the heck of it, since I'm not in a business that requires me to travel. In which case, I'm likely to find a nice café, order a cup of tea, and people-watch. I may try to find someone who speaks English or French and is willing to show me around and teach me a few words. Really, I'd like to be Michael Palin from the New Europe documentaries, only without the cameras following me around. That's a fascinating series.

1 - Ideal 24 hour day might seem too much for others but I revel in the superbusy funday. You know, the type of activities that if it were for work you would complain that today was work hell, but if it is for social (even though its work) that it would be totally worth it.

Like a wedding day and being in a wedding party. Or going to that big event and spend most of the day running around getting a new outfit, buying party supplies, cleaning, dressing up and then after all that - go to the event! I revel in those types of days.

2 - Award? Roleplaying game of the Year Special Award for the one game that made people cancel online gaming accounts to play it.

3 - Everyone around me is speaking a different language because I finally took my wife to Japan. What do I do? Smile and nod, buy flashy food products poorly translated english on them.

*giggle* I'll answer!

1. Wake up fully refreshed. Breakfast of dim-sum. Solving the very last bug in my company's product, letting us ship. Real Mexican for lunch. Time at an independent bookstore or CD store. Concert in the evening with close friends. Loving [livejournal.com profile] misseli through the night.

2. Solving a difficult problem -- finding a new and better way to do things.

3. I wave to my co-workers. *grin*
