Authoritarion doesn't work for everybody, I agree. but it DOES work for many people. Heck, I was brought up that way and thrived. So much depends on the kid, you know?
I don't know if you ever read John Rosemond, but he has a style of parenting called "benvolent dictatorship", which is where I think I am. :)
