I missed the first election I was ever eligible to vote in. It was the 1993 federal election, and I had just turned eighteen. I was living in France on a year-long exchange, and because I wasn't registered to vote before, I couldn't get a mail-in ballot in time to vote. I'm proud to say I've never missed one since, and don't intend to.
