I like this idea! Just a question - can the kids move in the opposite direction? Like if they do something good, do they get credit for it with that?
The teacher at my placement uses this "choice chart" with popsicle sticks. There's a large bristol board hanging of pockets with each students name. Red stick = poor behaviour, yellow stick = poor behaviour but less severe (warning), green stick = good behaviour, purple stick = other teacher recognized good behaviour (those sticks are never used)...
2 yellow sticks = 1 red stick 3 red sticks = stay in at recess 3 green sticks = "caught ya!" - fill out a little caught ya sheet with their name, and they enter it in a draw
I like that system because they can see it illustrated well, you can reinforce both good/bad behaviour, and those are mutually exclusive (you can have a good AND bad day cuz you can make both good and bad choices)
