Well, it's not true. That's a breakdown done by my husband, based on Ontario and New York State numbers for the specifics, and federal rates for both nations. The gist of it is that the tax rates are comparable, and once average health insurance costs are factored in, Canada is much cheaper, at least until you get into a high tax bracket (well over $100 000.)
