"I see mouse!"
Nov. 4th, 2004 08:35 pmThis was what my daughter said to me yesterday, while I was listening to one of my favourite CD's in the living room. She came running in from the kitchen saying, "Mouse! Mouse! I see mouse!" Thinking this was about stuffed animals, I asked, "Ou as-tu vu la souris? Ou as-tu vu la mouse?" (I'm still not over my tendency to mix languages.) She pulled me by the hand to the kitchen, then stood next to the stove looking down at where the cupboards meet the stove, saying, "Mouse, mouse! I see mouse!"
I have no doubt she really did see a mouse. So we're beginning the annual campaign to keep the little critters out of our house. I don't really care where they go - so long as it's not here.
I was pretty impressed that she connected the stuffed animal with the flitting impression of a furry body, though. :)
