We joked when the campaign started that one of the player's kids would be in high school by the time we finished. That kid graduates next year and has been known to sit in for one of her parents when they were called away for something. When the campaign started, three of the six players were childless. Now we arrange games so that all our kids can have a play date while we have our own play date at the dining room table.
Teaching is a nervous-making profession. There are so many balls to keep in the air at the same time, and it's easy to lose one in the rafters periodically until it suddenly lands on your head with enough force to concuss. Even so, it's wonderful to know I'm making a positive difference.
