No, I absolutely think they happen in every subject. To be a little clearer, I was including educational experiences under environmental influences on ability. I very much agree with you and Erin that achievement gaps based on poor scholastic experience are very common--I just don't think that eliminating them would make all students' achievement levels similar enough to give them all the same basic curriculum in the same classroom.
However, Erin's indicated in her new post that she really doesn't feel like continuing the discussion tonight, and I'm kind of tired of it too. Truce?
