You'd probably like Wooly Thoughts (I think it's http://www.woolythoughts.com). It's geek knitting, quilting, etc. Also in various places online you'll find a DNA scarf, a charming bag/container based on the mathematics of prime numbers, a 3D knit model of DNA suitable for children and, of course, myriad Fibonacci patterns. ^_^

When I was studying for my PhD, I knitted a mobius strip using a flexible knitting needle. Yes, just one needle along the edge. Casting off was very difficult. Crocheting them is a lot easier.
