I'm sure you know to be careful with morning glory. It's gorgeous stuff, but damn is it invasive. You'll have to wage a constant war with it to stop it taking over your entire garden.
We had a whole bunch of it on the back fence in our place in the six weeks between buying the place and us taking possession. It was already in the process of strangling the Evergreen Clematis. My mum waged war with it and it is gone now. On the one hand, I'm sad because it was so pretty. On the other, I'd kinda like to have other things in my yard, so it had to go, because I don't have the energy or time to keep it in chekck. :-P
It's a lot less invasive in places with really cold winters. :) And besides, I have a tiny garden. If it starts taking over next spring, I can pull up as much of it as necessary to keep it against the porch. It spreads by seed, not root, so pulling it up is easy. Bindweed, now - that stuff is the devil in flower form. It's really pretty, but if I could eradicate it, I would.
I checked with my neighbours before planting it - neither of them care if a few vines of morning glory end up in their gardens, so I'm good there, too. I like a plant that can take care of itself. :)
