Question

For those of you who post links: how do you keep track of them? Do you have a file you copy the links to? Do you bookmark them all?

I'm asking because I'm in YET ANOTHER vaccination debate, and I've decided it's time to gather up all the links to everything I've read and written on the subject. A lot of it is in my memories, but that's a pain in the neck.

Several LJ S2 styles support creating link lists that display in the same column as your tags list. I have begun to use that to keep a handy list of some of my most reused links.

And if you don't have an S2 style that supports links, how about a single private post where you gather all the links for a specific topic, and mark that private entry in your memories?

I try to have something relevant to the link in my Tags for that post.

The only problem I find is remembering what so-called "clever" tag I gave it.

I just save 'em in my bookmarks or in some cases, create a folder in my bookmarks folder in Firefox and to save links relating to specific topics/issues/etc. that i think are great or that i might need at some point (not just for LJ, but for my site, blog, whatever) and save 'em there. Isn't that what bookmarks folders are for?

I have a link blog and when I save a link there/publish a link there, I put it in a category, so if I have to refer to it, I click on the category heading. It's ONLY because I have the blog, I wouldn't say someone should do it otherwise.

Oh lord. I'm sorry I dragged you into that.

I appreciate all the info you and pudgiebudgie posted though - gave me ammo against another non-vaxer in my journal. :)

My sweetie, rbowspryte, uses delicious to track her links. It's a website designed for the very purpose of tracking links. You might want to check it out.
