Hide-and-Seek

"One, two, three, four, five, six, eleven, twelve, thirteen, eleven, twelve, eleven! Ready or not, here I come!"

Elizabeth turns around in place, takes one step, lifts the sheer curtain behind her and says, "There you are! I found you!" Both girls giggle, point out to their parents how they found/were found by the other in tones of immense pride, and then they start over in reverse. It's a continuous loop - because the other girl hides in exactly the same spot, over and over again.

I love watching two preschoolers play.

The Bunny was trying to play hide and seek with me last night after the party - and had very particular instructions as to where I should hide from her: "here daddy - I'll count, you hide behind the curtain! Here dadddy, you hide behind the cushion."

That is adorable. It is great that the girls can get the exact amount of fun out of it and not feel cheated. My boys have no luxury anymore in hide and seek, Connor usually gets found by the neighbourhood girls and therefore misses out on half of the game play, and feels very cheated since he is little and can't keep up.

But the girls also like to cheat so Gabe does not get to play properly either.

We have games of hide&seek like that here too. My Son (5) is just beginning to get how to really play but still plays that way b/c of his love for his sister.
