QotD: What Not to Wear

Gamer Chick: I play a lot of tabletop roleplaying games. . .

Stacey: Like Monopoly?

Gamer Chick: Things have changed a lot since you guys played any games, haven't they?

That was on "What not to wear?"

Id love to see an episode when they made a typical gamer girl all "pretty"

They threw out all her con t-shirts and everything. But they were starting with a blonde, blue-eyed, thin 22-year-old. It wasn't that hard.

Somehow, I just can't picture Stacey and Clinton playing RPGs of any kind.

Neither can I. I doubt Stacey has played a game of any kind since someone beat her at Monopoly at the age of nine.

Wish I'd seen that one (another reason I miss cable...waaah!)!
Much as S&C annoy me, however, to be fair to them, many gamers *could* stand to have makeovers. As for the con t-shirts...I will admit I am weeding them out of Jeff's wardrobe as they fall apart. I'm perfectly ok with him wearing them in the house or to do actual gaming, yardwork, etc. BUT, now that he's a grad student and has to look semi-professional, we're picking up nice polos, buttoned shirts, etc. for him to wear on campus. He often wears the t's as undershirts, but I'm winning one battle at a time. :-D

Stacey and Clinton at a con...I shudder to think. Their heads would explode.

My only problem with S&C is that they wouldn't admit there was a time or place for those t-shirts, like a gamer conference. By all means, give her nice stuff to wear to work or play, but allow for the fact that some of her tees were reasonable weekend wear for what she'd be doing.

Not from what they showed on the show.

Have you watched the intro lately? In it, Clinton is wearing a purple velvet sports jacket that simultaneously sets my gaydar to clamouring and my heart to yearning. I would so wear a female version of it - in fact, I own a purple jacket in leather that I love.
