The end of a long day

I was answering livejournal posts just now, and Elizabeth asked to be picked up (her signature, "bup!" in an authoritative tone.) She got up into my lap, turned around, looked at the screen, and said, "Baby!" in the most delighted tone imaginable. She apparently didn't realize that the baby in the photo was herself, and she certainly didn't recognize me. It was really cute.

Twelve of my kids showed up this morning, which was very disappointing. They did as little as they could, left as much mess as they could, and at some point in the day, one of them unwrapped a corner of the chocolate bar I got as a gift yesterday and took a bite out of it. It's clear they only did it to piss me off. It worked. I spent the afternoon sorting library books and fuming.

It's over, now. If I ever see them, I can be as magnanimous or as nasty as they are to me. I will not be friendly, and I will not make conversation. And no child of mine will ever bear a name related to one of those kids. I have two more grey hairs to name - I'm thinking one of them should be female, and I'm debating between Justine and Dana (no offense meant to any of you who happen to have those names - those were simply the worst two of my girls this year.)

Here's to the end of the school term from hell! (Raises Curves shake in toast.)

You survived. You can do anything now.

But, not being a masochist, I will not do grade 7 again.

I can sympathise with that.

Hurray!
I'd go with Justine. I knew a Dana once who was nice, and knew a kid named Justin (close) who was a brat. :D

I had a Justin this year, too. He was a bit of a pain, most of which can be chalked up to various issues in his life over which he had no control. Still, he was involved in trashing my room and taking and hiding the DVD I rented, so that it was two days late going back. Not a stellar character, precisely. Yes, I think Justine is a better name.

How about hyphenating it? :)

Babies looooove other babies. It's hilarious how they react to each other, even in pictures (and even in pictures of themselves, obviously!). The bunny sometimes does the same thing when she sees babies on the computer (I'm pretty sure she recognizes Elizabeth!), but she always goes bananas for one particular baby: [livejournal.com profile] belpheobe's little boy. She laughs and points and bounces, the little flirt...

How do you feel about arranged marriages? :)

Well, it seems to be working for some of my coworkers... *chuckle* I don't think she's going to need our help, frankly. That's the thing about these cute babies of ours. They're already breaking hearts, goodness knows what'll happen when they grow up!
