Well, that's better.

My throat is still scratchy, but I'm not nearly as stiff and i actually slept last night. No headache, either.

The rash we thought was chickenpox? It's not. It may have been a heat rash, or a minor allergic reaction to something. But it's not chickenpox, and it's all better, so she's going to daycare today.

All of which means this is my writing day!

I'm still going to call a masseuse I know and make an appointment, because [livejournal.com profile] mizheekay was right - I'm much stiffer than I should be. It occurred to me that one of Elizabeth's favourite games in the back room is to have me sit on the couch, and then she climbs all over me, spending quite a bit of time lying across the back of my neck. That, plus the occasional moments when I carry her on my shoulders (that happens mostly when both strollers are in the car and we have to go somewhere on foot) and an office chair that is a long way from ergonomic, and it's no wonder my back and neck are out of whack. That said, I'm not crazy about chiropractors in general, so I'll try the massage route first. I think Piet even has coverage for it in his benefit plan that's better than my coverage. (My benefit plan allows me to claim $10 for each visit. That's one quarter of a half-hour massage - pathetic, really.)

Gotta get the little lady ready for school, and get breakfast, and otherwise start the day.

Good morning everyone!

In any case, there's no way we're using even one person's entire allotment, so that's just fine by me. :)

Your family should have stayed in the Old Country. Isn't Scotland a lot like that, weather-wise?

Yep. Both times I've been back, I've been tempted to stay just because of the weather. It's just not practical, though, for a million reasons. Plus, a little bit too rainy at times (rather like BC). But it was amazing, feeling comfortable in my own skin, breathing deeply...

I suspect that a lot of folks must have similar issues. Maybe the people we see wearing coats in this weather are originally from warmer climes. *shrug*
