Sleep

I haven't had enough of this lately. This evening its lack is catching up to me. If I thought Elizabeth would go to sleep without her lullaby, I'd go to bed now. But she's not quite ready for bed yet, so I'll stay up until she goes to sleep, then go straight to sleep myself.

The party went well. There was lots of food, and everyone had fun watching Elizabeth open her gifts. She got a great flower-girl dress for sassy_fae's and etherlad's wedding next month, and two other summer dresses that are both play-dresses, good for everyday or for church. She got some little people, a Mr. Potato Head, about a dozen books (including The Monster At the End of This Book - thanks summerfields!) and some other stuff I'm too tired to remember right now. All good, though. The tea set from her great-aunt is lovely. It's a blue-and-white delft pattern, complete with a picnic basket, in real china. I wish it were adult sized.

Yay, I'm glad it went well! Can you believe the next time you do this she'll already be three?? At that point, she'll definitely have the concept that it's HER birthday and no one else's, I guar-un-tee :D

Even better, the next time I do this I'll either have a tiny one already, or be big as a house waiting for the second. Hopefully.

So far she's been a bit confused by it, I think, but she asked me to read it "again!" last night, so I think she's warming up to it. :)
