The Pampered Chef, maybe? I know the kind of thing you mean... it's the hand-crank one, right? You put a chunk of cheese in, fold the clamp part down onto it, and turn the grater part. Man, those things are hard to use when you've got wee hands, aren't they. You have to keep squeezing the handle parts together... We have a metal one that I swear must be older than I am, but I never use it because it's just too painful.

I brought the Tupperware grater home from Ptbo, and again, if you can get one, they're awesome. The grater lid locks onto the bowl base (it's got three kinds of grater, and a slicer, IIRC), and you can take the grater part off and replace it with any large round Tupperware lid. I don't know if they still make them, this one's at least 20 years old. But it's definitely worth looking into -- one of the smartest gadgets they ever invented, IMO.
