Writing day!

In an hour or so, Elizabeth will head off to daycare, Daddy will go to work and I will go to Curves. When I get back, I will finish the diving bell scene at last, write the scene where the party gets into the tower, and possibly back up a bit to write the scene where Sal attempts to browbeat Father Julien into helping them - and Father Julien throws himself overboard instead. Every book needs a few "OOPS!" moments, right? All of this will take at least five thousand words, I think. I will write steadily, I hope, until about four o'clock, and then I'll go pick up the sprout.

This is the day I finish the bulk of what's left of the book. After today, there will be a few thousand words of loose-end-tying and epilogue to go.

What am I going to do with myself when I don't have scenes battling each other for supremacy and writing order in my head? Worldbuilding just isn't the same.

Wish me luck!

Have fun storming the castle!

Oh, the storming scene has been written already. It starts out as a dinner date with a big mage-type who's imprisoned there, and ends up being a battle that kills the mage and nearly kills Captain Salvatore. That was a cool scene to write. The problem with these ones is that they're filler - intriguing to read, hopefully, but not to write.

Anyway, it's going well so far. I'm looking forward to writing the acrimonious-parting scene later today.

*makes a mental note to watch The Princess Bride again this weekend...*

*laughs* Yep, that's about it. Only the characters are anthropomorphic animals.
