I take it he doesn't care for hats. That's a cool pattern.

Once I get through some January B-day knitting I plan on making another Dublin beanie this time for LA, hopefully in time for his Feb. b-day. He surprised me with how much he liked it when he tried on the brown variegated one I made for a friend. I also bought Munchkin Cthulhu for LA's b-day too.

I've been meaning to ask you if you find yourself knitting more than crocheting these days?

Yep - I rarely pick up a hook these days, with all the knitting projects I have in progress. And I'm actually finishing them, which is twenty kinds of awesome.

It'd be awesome to have a Cthulhu hat, only with dangling tentacles (as opposed to little tassle-y things.)

Oh, poor Cthulhu! Reduced to a woolly hat. :)

[identity profile] pwned-kisa.livejournal.com 2009-01-19 05:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Isn't it evil? Therefore, he'd probably approve! :D

The end result of his approval or disapproval is totally the same, in any case. :)

*NOMNOMNOM!*

Nooo, don't believe the knitter propaganda! You can make things every bit as cool with crochet!
Umm.. Aha!

[identity profile] pwned-kisa.livejournal.com 2009-01-19 05:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Waaaa! I wants a beard hat!!!

[identity profile] velvetpage.livejournal.com 2009-01-19 09:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Sure you can! Use the same chart from that pattern, work in hdc from the top down, and follow the chart for the two colours when you get to the right spot. It'll work up fine.

The reason I don't crochet much anymore is that I was at the point where I could look at a pattern, realize I knew all the techniques to make it even if it wasn't a crochet pattern, and get bored without even picking up a hook. This would challenge my knitting skills, but not my crochet skills.

That's a pretty cool hat; if you make it, you'll have to get [livejournal.com profile] pyat to model it for us!

[identity profile] amarafox.livejournal.com 2009-01-19 04:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Bahahaha. I love the hat, and the woodins pattern made me squee

"Hey Pyat, how are?"
"Can't talk. Elder God eating my brain."
".. ok, can't argue with that."

*rolls eyes*

Cthulhu is NOT an Elder God. He's a Great Old One. Sheesh.

Those bunnies just made my day! Soooo cute!
(and I guess the Cthulu hat is "cute" too?)

Just for that, I'll make you one too so it can eat YOUR brain.

[identity profile] summerfields.livejournal.com 2009-01-19 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Excellent, I didn't need my brain anyway!
