They thought interfaith meant "interdenominational," probably - as in, this one day, the Catholics can be considered to be Christian so they can worship with us. They didn't read the fine print, and now they're shown up as bigots.

I'm on the fence about "narrow paths to the divine." I try not to hate anyone, but I'm quite willing to scorn them for their rudeness and lack of tolerance. It's a situational thing for me, rather than an overall hatred.

Mind you, they're Southern Baptists. I have a deep distrust of current Southern Baptist theology and practice. Hate? No. I recognize that individually, most of them are very nice people trying to live in the best way they can, and I respect that. I just can't find much respect for the way they've chosen.
