Today is Claire's seven-month birthday. That means there's a developmental update due to the baby filter. It's unlikely to happen today, but it will happen before Christmas for sure.

Hugs and strength and support to [livejournal.com profile] sassy_fae and [livejournal.com profile] etherlad. You know where to find us if you need us, and we're always ready to help.

There are now gifts under the tree for immediate family members. Not everything - about half, actually - but a few things. Claire watched from her exersaucer while I boxed, measured and cut paper, and taped. I'll try to do more of that later. The area under the tree is starting to fill up. My exploradora baby hasn't discovered it yet - the tree is outside her usual stomping grounds. I'm hoping I can keep her out of that zone until Christmas morning.

I was about to report that my house was a mess, and then realized that that's the normal state of things, and doesn't qualify as news.

I've been sucked into that debate community. I'm very, very glad that I joined it without watching it on my friends list; it means i can read my friends list and still ignore it.

I think that's about it for today. I'm off to rescue a toy from my marauding baby.

We had a Superyard (http://www.amazon.com/none-8666-Superyard-XT-Gate/dp/B00004RA66) in the backyard/carport (on some indoor/outdoor carpet) when he was a mobile baby. That Christmas we used it around the tree! He could see everything but it kept him out of the presents and the ornaments that year.

We don't have room for one, or I'd consider it.
