Do you think that achievement gaps based on poor scholastic experiences only occur in mathematical subjects? Because that hasn't been my experience. In pretty much every case I've seen, once a kid receives the message that they're stupid, it's all downhill from there in pretty much every regard. It often happens before they finish fourth grade.
