Frankly, your children and mine are both going to do just fine. The chances of them succeeding are dramatically skewed in their favour by parental education, socio-economic level, and location. Staying reasonably aware of what's going on in their schools is of course a good idea, but I'd be really surprised if any of our kids didn't at least graduate high school, and I have little doubt all four of them will do well in post-secondary. They've won the birth lottery by choosing us as parents.
